Katharine will not be at St George’s market any more. Sadly, she passed away on Friday 29 November.
Katharine’s partner Heinz wishes to tell you that, although Katharine may not be physically in charge of the stall, she continues to be in charge from above.
Heinz continues to take care of the stall, and is passing on the profits of the sales of Katharine’s jewellery and crafts to her favourite charity.
If you pass by St George’s, come and say hi.
Katharine, you followed your dreams, and you are a great inspiration. Thank you.
My Brother, Nick Kinney, has a facebook page which shows some of his artwork – see his paintings at Sinnamon’s coffee shop in Botanic Avenue in Belfast at present.
The Festival runs from 3rd – 8th September in Hillsborough, County Down

RETAIL MASTERCLASSES WITH DES MULHOLLAND
I went along to this talk from Des Mulholland who has a wealth of experience in business, held in the Ulster Museum – all part of Craft NI’s craft month, packed full of interesting activities and events. I found lots of what he said very useful and will help me develop my business – PRECIOUS PAPER.
check out the Craft NI website to see what else they have on offer:
Here are the dates of the Hillsborough Craft market – do pop in if you are in the Lisburn/Belfast area. There will be a very busy market during the Oyster Festival – and lots happening so come along!
Heinz & I at St.George’s wearing our Volunteers’ T-shirts
Belfast has just hosted the third biggest international sporting games (after the Olympics and Commonwealth Games) – The World Police and Fire Games – Heinz and I volunteered and were issued with smart red T-shirts, and we welcomed thousands of competitors, their families and supporters to Northern Ireland for 10 days of the most varied competitions and events. We wore our T-shirts at St. George’s market during the Games to show support to our overseas visitors.
There has been a tremendous buzz throughout Belfast as exotic (and very fit) teams of fire-fighters, police, and prison officers enjoyed a very warm welcome. The weather was relatively kind and some competitors even appreciated the fact we were not experiencing the horrendously high temperatures that London was having especially when doing events like the “Stair race” in full breathing apparatus kit up 26 floors!

Well Precious Paper is all set to recycle more magazines and scrap paper in 2013 and make them into charming items… do bring me any old magazines or catalogues that you are finished with if you are popping down to St.George’s on a Sunday, especially good quality thick paper ones as they make the best beads! I’ll put them all to far better use than if you were to chuck them in the recycling bin.
St George’s Market on a Sunday is still the place to be with great food stalls, live music every week, and lots of craic – remember the market is open from 10.00, long before any of the big stores open up in town.
